Printers / resetting the chip on canon edible ink cartridges

Typically, depressing the 'Stop' or 'Stop/Resume' button (for 5-8 seconds) only needs to be depressed once per cartridge refill, to enable use of the refilled ink cartridge or cartridges. However, you will also need to select ‘Ok’ on the printer since ‘Windows’ error messages may also pop-up between each button press. For multiple cartridges, you may need to repeat this procedure for each cartridge that is installed in the printer (i.e. 4 cartridges, press and hold ‘Stop/Stop/Resume’ button 4 times….alternating with an ‘Ok’ button presses in between

2.   See steps above in cleaning the printhead.

Vertical Lines in Images (picture held upright - Portrait)
1.   These lines indicate that the rollers are dragging on icing sheet
2.   To help with these lines put your printer settings on "envelope setting"
3.   To do this thru your computer follow these steps:
4.   Go to Start
5.   Go to Control Panel
6.   Click on Devices and Printers
7.   Find the printer you are working with
8.   Right click on the icon
9.   Go to Printer Preferences
10.   Click on the "Main" tab
11.   Change Media type to "Envelope"
12.   Click ok at bottom of window
13.   New window will pop up, click "IGNORE" and window will disappear
14.   try printing your picture now
15.   If you have the MagiClean Roller Cleaner you can use this tool to clean the rollers
16.   Spritz the fabric on the roller cleaner
17.   Gently move the Cleaner Tool back and forth where the paper comes out of the front of the machine
18.   Make sure to insert and remove the cleaner gently do not swipe it along the rollers - you may cause damage to the rollers if you do this
19.   The roller cleaner may be used multiple times to remove ink and icing build up on the rollers

Printers / Trouble Shooting Printer - Colors Not Printing Right
« Last post by tricia623 on March 30, 2017, 03:26:31 PM »

Step to follow if you are having issues with your printer not printing colors, or printing lines (vertical or horizontal).

Colors not correct

1.   Make sure that your cartridges have ink in both side of the cartridge.
2.   Tap the cartridge on a hard surface on to a piece of paper towel or paper and make sure that you get a good amount of ink to come out.

If Not:
1.   Check to see where the ink level is on the liquid side of the cartridge.
2.   If the ink level is below the half way point, you will want to saturate the sponge, but releasing the vacuum lock that may be in the cartridge.
3.   To do this put the orange cap on the bottom of the cartridge, peel back the label that says "push" and pull the black rubber stopper in the cartridge.  Make sure that the orange cap is on before doing this or you will have a big mess.
4.   You only need to keep the stopper out for a minute, you may see the ink level go down on the liquid side of the tank, these means that it is saturating the sponge side.
5.   Put the plug back in and remove the orange cap and tap again on the paper or paper towel, you should see more ink flowing from the cartridge.

If So:
1.   The printhead will need to be cleaned.
2.   Remove all of the cartridges and then remove the printhead from the carrier.
3.   Take a wet paper towel and wipe the bottom of the printhead until clean, dry and put back into machine.
4.   Put machine on high quality.
5.   Print image or test pattern with all colors (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) to see if the flow of all colors is present.
6.   If still having problems with colors
7.   Remove printhead and take to sink rinse to get all color out and then use Powerflush to see if all the jets are flowing
8.   You can tell if they are flowing by the fan spray coming out of the bottom of printhead.
9.   If not all the jets are flowing you can soak the printhead in hot tap water (just as hot as your hand can stand) and a drop of liquid dish soap. Or the cleaning solution that came with your PowerFlush.
10.   Soak for 10 to 15 minutes and then try PowerFlushing again and you should see the fan spray from all jets.
11.    Put printhead and cartridges back in the machine and try printing on high quality.
12.   If you still have problems, you may need to replace the printhead.

What is your favorite electronic cutter.

I have used the Zing, the Cricut,  and Silhouette Curio.  For just shape cuts I love the Zing.  but for print and cuts I lean toward the Curio but I'm looking forward to using the new Silhouette CAMEO® 3 toward the end of the month.
